Our Story

Education changed my life for the better. I was born and raised in a humble home. my father had no formal education. Yet he valued education and knew its potential to create opportunities in life.

My father’s believe and investment in my education laid the solid foundation that transformed me from the son of fisherman to a PhD. This achievement is a testament to the power of education. Through my undergraduate and postgraduate studies, I also secured scholarships that were a critical to attaining my educational dreams.

The YAS scholarship aims to keep my father dream and the premium he placed on education alive. The YAS scheme seeks to identify and support high potential Jukun (Wanu) sons and daughters who have demonstrated excellent academic performance with a community and service-oriented mindset in the journey to realising their dreams.

The YAS initiative is designed for Jukun (Wanu) students in universities across the globe. YAS is a merit-based scholarship program that focuses on identifying young Wanu talent through a rigorous selection process and creating the opportunity for them to maximise their potentials. The scholarship will include monetary value, local and international mentoring, professional development through courses and community service.
